Follow the Buffalo

For centuries they ruled the plains. In mere decades they were on the brink of extinction. Follow the story of the plains bison from the buffalo bones at Bodo, which tell how aboriginal tribes and bison existed symbiotically for thousands of years, to Wainwright, where the creation of a national park brought the bison back to the Canadian plains.

Buffalo Park Centre and Regional Archives

The Buffalo Park Foundaion is building the Buffalo Park Centre & Regional Archives to preserve, present, and interpret regional history for the education and enjoyment of present and future generation. The centre will have permanent and rotational exhibit space, a regional archives, educational programming and tourist information services.

Bodo Archaeological Dig Site & Centre

The Bodo Archaeological Centre promotes the continuation of field research at Bodo and is working to develop public archaeology programming including guided tours and showcasing the finds at the Bodo archaeolgical site. The Bodo Interepretive Centre in located in the old Bodo school and hosts school and group tours of the centre and site.
