Rosenheim Church

Experience the magnificence of early Twentieth Century German architecture at the largest neo-Gothic church in rural Alberta, affectionately known as the “Jewel of the Prairies”. Built by hand by German pioneers in 1922, the church and its surrounding cemetery is chock full of local history. Walk through and hear colorful stories of the people of the area including the many hardships of the German settlers. Now an historic site, this ornate building narrowly escaped destruction and was painstakingly restored to its former glory by the Rosenheim Historical Society.
